Sabana Village
A Multi-Family Residential Complex Located in the Sabana Llana Sector, Río Piedras
Designed to offer permanent housing and integrated support services to vulnerable communities in Puerto Rico. With 160 housing units, this project provides a safe, stable, and accessible home for over 400 individuals, including low-income families, homeless individuals, and people living with HIV/AIDS.
Design and Layout
Sabana Village Apartments consists of two six-story buildings connected by a central core with elevators and stairwells. The units are designed to accommodate various needs:

35 three-bedroom apartments

5 four-bedroom apartments
Additionally, 32 of these units meet the accessibility standards of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
Services and Amenities
This project not only provides a place to live but also offers services that promote well-being and self-sufficiency:

Medical and Case Management Offices: To address medical and social needs.

Recreational Areas: Including a playground, a basketball court, and a gym.

Renovated Key Facilities: Laundry rooms, elevators, and modern security systems.

Parking: With capacity for 179 vehicles.

Modern Systems: Irrigation, power generators, and cisterns to ensure resilience.

Financing and Purpose
Sabana Village Apartments has been rehabilitated through the CDBG-DR Gap Program and the Low-Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTC), managed by the Puerto Rico Housing Finance Authority. This funding ensures the availability of affordable, resilient, and dignified housing for the most vulnerable populations.
